2 July 2012

elea Foundation and Accenture Switzerland enter a strategic long-term partnership starting 1 July 2012.

elea Foundation is pleased to welcome one of the leading global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing companies as the first corporate philanthropic investor. Accenture's involvement enables elea to expand its activities and its respective impact. The goal of the cooperation is to provide skills and know-how to less privileged people helping them to live an independent life above the poverty line.

Thomas D. Meyer, Country Managing Director, Accenture Switzerland, is delighted about the partnership: "The elea approach, to fight poverty with entrepreneurial solutions, is convincing and in line with the objectives of our 'Skills to Succeed' program. Together we can create a sustainable impact and improve the economic living conditions of many people in Asia, Africa, and Latin America." The purpose of the 'Skills to Succeed' program is to build skills with vocational and further training that enable 250'000 people around the world to participate in and contribute to the economy and society by 2015. Accenture and the Accenture Foundations will provide more than 100 million USD by the end of 2013 to support the set goals.

Accenture is a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company. Combining unparalleled experience, comprehensive capabilities across all industries and business functions, and extensive research on the world's most successful companies, Accenture collaborates with clients to help them become high-performance businesses and governments.

elea Foundation wants to achieve sustainable, positive and tangible social impact to the direct benefit of people challenged by the globalization process. It targets the poor at the base of the pyramid through entrepreneurial philanthropic projects that align ideas with capital - with own financial means and in cooperation with further philanthropic investors.
