Entering a new phase of our establishment

Peter Wuffli has been appointed Chairman, Myrtha Bohni Chief Administration Officer. With effect from August 2008 Andreas Kirchschläger has been appointed Chief Executive Officer.

The elea Foundation for Ethics in Globalization which was created at the end of 2006 by Peter and Susanna Wuffli is entering a new phase. After completion of preliminary work on foundation model, project choice and partnerships elea has moved into its own premises in Zurich. Peter Wuffli is Chairman and effective August 2008, Andreas Kirchschläger will serve as Chief Executive Officer. He is already involved in the strategic thinking that shapes the foundation. elea plans to initiate first projects in 2008. The foundation model is to act as an intermediary in the allocation of philanthropic capital.

In his role as Chairman Peter Wuffli will focus on strategic issues. «With Andreas Kirchschläger, elea has found a CEO who will ensure effective and sustainable work in an international context. I am delighted tha the has chosen to accept this pioneering challenge.» The CEO-designate of elea will still be responsible for the 38th St. Gallen Symposium in May 2008 and will serve as President of the St. Gallen Foundation for International Studies until the end of June.

Andreas Kirchschläger was born in Vienna in 1971 and grew up in Lucerne. Amonghis other duties, he is the President of the Max Schmidheiny Foundation and holds a teaching engagement at University of St. Gallen. «I will be able to contribute my entrepreneurial, communication andcreative skills to elea in the service of a high ethical ambition.»

Myrtha Bohni has been appointed Chief Administration Officer of the foundation. Peter Wuffli: «I am very pleased that my personal assistant over many years will make her skills and her great experience available for elea.»

elea wants to achieve sustainable, positive and tangible impact to the direct benefit of people challenged by the globalization process. It will target the poor at the bottom of the pyramid through entrepreneurial philanthropic projects that align ideas with capital.
